Insurance we work with
We are out of network, so we do not bill health plans directly. Some plans reimburse acupuncture when you send in a receipt, and others do not cover it.

If you pay yourself
Most people pay at the session. A group seat and a private session are priced differently, and Ismael tells you the fee for either when you reserve, before you come. Some seats each week are held at a reduced fee for anyone who needs one: just ask. HSA and FSA cards can often be used, so ask your plan administrator.
Receipts for reimbursement
After every session we can give you an itemized receipt, called a superbill, to send to your plan. Your plan decides what it reimburses. Before you send it, ask your plan:
Is there an acupuncture benefit?
How many visits does it allow?
Is there a copay or a deductible?
Do I need a referral?
An estimate in advance
If you pay without insurance, you have the right to receive a good faith estimate of what your care will cost before you start. We give you one in writing when you reserve a seat. If the final bill is $400 or more above the estimate, you can dispute it. The estimate is not a contract.
Checking your benefits
Because we are out of network, we cannot check your benefits for you. Call your plan before your first session and ask the questions above.
What the first visit includes
A first session takes about 45 minutes, the same as every other session, and it starts with a short conversation, so come ten minutes early. We share its fee with you in advance, as above.
