Group ear sessions
Resting together, five points at a time
A group session is a small circle of people in recliners, fully clothed, each with five points in each ear. It is quiet, it is about 45 minutes, and nobody needs to explain why they came.
The points are always the same, so you do not need an exam first. Ismael talks you through what will happen, places the needles or seeds you chose, and leaves the room quiet. Sessions are held on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Who usually comes
People who are worn thin by a long stretch of work or caregiving
People whose nights have been short or broken
People who want something quiet to add to what they already do

What a session is like, in order
- 01
Step 1: Arrive and settle
Come a few minutes early the first time. Choose a chair, take a blanket and tell Ismael if you are pregnant or take blood thinners.
- 02
Step 2: Choose needles or seeds
Ismael cleans each ear and places five points. It takes a couple of minutes, and you can ask him to stop.
- 03
Step 3: Rest
About half an hour of quiet. You can close your eyes, doze or just look around the room.
- 04
Step 4: Finish and go home
Ismael removes the needles, or leaves the seeds on. A glass of water first, then the rest of your day.
Before and after
What you may feel afterward
Sleepy, a little light-headed, hungry or just quiet. Some people have a small ache or a faint mark at an ear point for a day. Stand up slowly and eat something light.
Tell us first
Pregnancy, blood thinners, a pacemaker, lymph node removal, a bleeding disorder, or a fear of needles. Ear seeds are an easy answer to that last one.
How many sessions people plan for
Many people try one or two a week for a few weeks and then decide. That is your plan with Ismael, and it is never a promise of a result.
What it does not do, and when to see a doctor instead
It is not therapy and it does not replace medicine or care for a sleep disorder. See your doctor if your sleep or mood keeps getting worse, and call 911 in an emergency.
